What speed should I troll my Epic Lure?
Our 4” model has been tested to run true at speeds between 1.5 MPH to 4.5 MPH. At the slower speeds the lure does not have as much action as the higher speeds. We have found 2.5 to 2.8 MPH to be optimum for action.
Do all Epic Lures look the same?
Every Epic wood lure is handmade and hand painted. We do our absolute best to provide a consistent product.
Is wood better than plastic at catching fish?
The uniqueness of the wood grain creates an erratic side to side movement as well as a tight wiggle which triggers fish to strike. The wood may also create a more natural sound signature in the water that is appealing to the fish.
What are the components made from?
All the eyelets and split rings are made from stainless steel with a rating of 100 lbs straight pull. The hooks are VMC tinsteels that are made to stand up to the harshest fresh and saltwater conditions.

Can I change the hook configuration?
Yes. And by doing so, it changes the action of the lure.
Why is my lure not perfectly smooth?
Epic lures are not perfectly smooth for a reason. With the grain showing as well as small dentures in the plug, friction and sound vibrations are created in the water that closely resemble baitfish.
How can I adjust the action on my lure?
Gently bending the eyelet left or right will adjust the action on the lure.
Can I use my lure for casting?
Yes, we recommend removing the front hook.
